An inch of rain would go a long way in helping the forest fire situation in our province.

Fire Program Manager Tom Mirus says a slow, soaking inch of rain would downgrade the fire hazard from extreme to high.

To date, there have been 474 fires in our province.

Of the six fires that started Tuesday, two were caused by humans, including one at Birds Hill.
