It's big news for the Winkler Curling Club and City of Winkler, the 2018 Viterra Provincial Men's Championship is coming to town January 31st to February 4th.

It will be the second time in three years Winkler has hosted a provincial curling championship. You may remember it was 2015 when the community hosted what's considered one of the most successful Scotties in Manitoba curling history.

Curl Manitoba Executive Director Craig Baker joined us on Wednesday's Morning Show to talk about the announcement, and why the Southern Manitoba city was selected.

Baker also spoke to us about the exceptionally high calibre of curling expected at the Championship.

The 2018 Viterra Men's Curling Championship will take place at the Winkler Arena January 31st through February 4th, and will be two weeks earlier than usual as part of the Olympic year championship curling schedule.
