The Boundary Trails Health Centre made it through it's first big storm of the season with their newly enclosed emergency entrance. Since June the patients and staff have no longer had to deal with the outdoor elements when arriving or leaving Boundary Trails Health Centre (BTHC) by ambulance.

"It's been a very welcomed and appreciated addition, even in the summer months it was great protection against high winds and rain," said Emergency Services Director for Southern Health Scott Noble.

Noble noted that in recent days the enclosure has come in very handy when transporting patients into the hospital providing more safety and comfort for all those involved.

"Paramedics are equipped to load and unload patients in all weather conditions, however another benefits of the new garage is the direct access to the ER the feature allows for a much more seamless transfer from the care of paramedics to the care of a physician," said Noble.

The new garage not only protects anyone using it from weather elements the space also provides a lot more privacy for incoming patients.
