A motorist is safe and sound after escaping a car fire Wednesday afternoon.

Members of the Carman-Dufferin Fire Department were called to the incident on 4:48 p.m. in the R.M. of Dufferin.

According to the department's social media, the driver reported electrical issues with the vehicle just before it caught fire, adding the doors of the car wouldn't open in order for them to get out.
