The numbers are in, and this year's Summerfest in Dominion City was another big success.

Committee member Tracey French says they raised over $16,000 at the two-day event, which was held earlier this month.

“A big part of that is the sponsors that we get to help start off the weekend to pay for the activities and the bands and all that kind of stuff,” she explained. “That makes a big difference.”

All the funds raised will stay with the Roseau Crossing Heritage Park.

French notes while local attendance was down a bit, they did receive a boost from people attending the strongman competition.

She adds the committee will sit down and discuss the change from a Saturday/Sunday event to a Friday/Saturday schedule, which was new this year.
