The Pembina Threshermen's Museum held its annual general meeting Saturday afternoon to bring board members, volunteers, and faithful visitors up-to-speed on the events of 2016 and what they can look forward to in the new year.

Much of the gathering included going over last year's projects.

President Howard Thiessen shared he'd love to see a rail car accompany the elevator to complete the new exhibit, but isn't sure if his dream is realistic.

"So far I haven't connected with the right people or I haven't made my case strong enough," said Thiessen. "I don't know what it is."

He plans to continue pursuing a rail car to add to the museum.

In 2016, the museum added 22 new events, programs, and physical improvements to the property. This year, however, Thiessen said there's isn't much planned.

"We've decided to [stay] low-key this year," he said.

"We don't want to put more strain on our finances than what we have already."

Instead, Thiessen suggested 2017 could be a year of regrouping and planning for the future.

In 2016, The museum continued to grow in attendance. It has experience steady growth since 2011. Counting back to 2005, 28,885 people have visited the museum.
