Manitoba Pork says there have been two new cases of the PED virus confirmed in the province since October 13, bringing the total to 80 this year.

One of the infected sites was a finisher site, while the other was a nursery/finisher operation.

On a positive note, 29 previously infected premises have achieved transitional status, meaning that all the animals on the site are no longer clinically sick. There have also been 11 sites that have been moved to presumptive negative status for PED.

Manitoba Pork is reminding producers to remain vigilant with heightened biosecurity practices heading into the winter months.
