Organizers of the 40th Manitoba Ag Days are expecting to see up to 50,000 people come through the doors of Brandon's Keystone Centre this week.

Canada's largest indoor farm show runs from Tuesday until Thursday.

Manitoba Agriculture Minister Ralph Eichler will give his keynote address Tuesday afternoon.

He talked about some of the highlights of the event.

"The main thing that I think all of us take home from this is the new technology, the new innovation, the new relationships, the new opportunities, that are out there and of course how we all can add more value added to our operations," commented Eichler. "Of course, at the end of the day, we want to be the most improved province in Canada and by doing that we'll also be fixing our finances, which we know is key to everyone in the province."

Eichler says the Manitoba PC Party will also be hosting a caucus meeting Tuesday morning in Brandon, adding that Premier Brian Pallister is scheduled to address the Ag Days crowd at around 1:30 p.m.

The 40th Manitoba Ag Days gets underway Tuesday morning with the Kick Off Breakfast at the Canad Inn's Roadhouse starting at 7:30 am, with a minimum $5 donation going to Ag In The Classroom - Manitoba.

This year's show will feature over 550 exhibitors spread out over 540,000 square feet. Manitoba's own Versatile 1080 "Big Roy" tractor, which is also celebrating 40  years, will be on display during the event. Other highlights include the Inventor's Showcase and Best New Product Competition. The bull congress is also back for another year and the Canadian Agriculture Safety Association (CASA) will be launching their grain entrapment training unit.

Over 60 speakers are scheduled to take to the stage over the three days.

Admission and parking is free.
