Farm women from across the province had a chance to reconnect this week in Brandon.

The 31st Annual Manitoba Farm Women's Conference wrapped up Tuesday at the Victoria inn.

Chair Donna Lee Brown says they had a good mix of women attend.

"We have some ladies that have come for 20, 25 years continuously to the conference to learn and share. There's people that are brand new, first timers this year and we look for them always as well and that's the diversity of the group. We need the historical part and we need the new part to be successful."

About 120 women attended this year's conference.

Donna said the role of women in farming is changing.

"Lot's of young women have degrees in varying aspects of their education. Teacher, lawyers, business, it can be anything. It doesn't have to be hands-on but they need to support their agriculture. They need to support what agriculture is doing, take an interest."

Next year's event will be held in Winkler.
