Linamar Corporation has announced that it's acquisition of Winnipeg-based MacDon is now complete.

The deal, which was announced last December, is worth C$1.2 billion.

MacDon manufactures specialized agriculture harvesting equipment such as drapers and self-propelled windrowers. The company will be combined with Linamar’s existing agriculture harvesting business in Hungary.

"We are excited to welcome MacDon into the Linamar family," said CEO Linda Hasenfratz. "This acquisition is a very important strategic step that expands Linamar’s capabilities and further diversifies our end markets. MacDon is a premier, well-managed company and an innovative market leader and we look forward to working with the MacDon team to grow together globally.”
