Manitoba Beef Producers wrapped up its round of fall district meetings this week.

General Manager Brian Lemon said they had good turnouts at the meetings, adding that producers were generally in a better mood this year because of higher prices.

He talked about some of the key topics that were discussed.

"Some changes are coming in terms of the CFIA and their traceability and animal movement reporting. We're talking about predation and some of the challenges that some of the producers are having in terms of problem predators out on the landscape. We're talking about water management."

Lemon said they had a chance to hear from local 4-H members before some of the meetings, which was a great opportunity to get input from the next generation of cattle farmers.
