Manitoba Beef Producers (MBP) is busy hosting its fall district meetings.

General Manager Carson Callum is travelling throughout the province to meet with producers.

"We go across the province to our 14 districts to meet with our members and really determine the issues that are affecting them and talk about how we can drive the organization in the right direction," he said. "That's kind of the purpose of these meetings across a four week period. It's definitely a big marathon but it's very important."

Callum touched on some of the topics being discussed.

"The growing conditions, obviously another back-to-back drought that led into am almost 'way to much' moisture situation and then the snow storm all compounding on that really. Trying to talk about how we can maybe investigate some help for these producers. Then in a lot of those northern communities, the Ag Crown Lands piece is a big topic for us."

He was asked about the feed situation heading into the winter.

"It's short, can't put it any other way. I know guys are really trying to investigate their options but overall feed supply is very short."

MBP's fall district meetings wrap up on November 14th in Oak Lake.
