The Beef Cattle Research Council (BCRC) is hosting a series of free webinars during the fall to spring months.

This is the third series of webinars they've put together, where experts have volunteered to speak on different topics in the beef industry. The webinars are about an hour in length, and take place about once per month.

Tracy Herbert, Extension and Communications Director with BCRC, says they had about 400 people across Canada registered for their first webinar of the series, where they talked about corn grazing.

"There was a wide-range across Canada that registered for this webinar. The vast majority were producers, but there were also some people who work in agri-business, some students, and some folks that work for government participate as well."

The next webinar is November 16, called, "Are Your Bulls Actually Siring Calves?"

"I think a lot of producers that breed cows on large pastures with multiple bulls might just assume that all their bulls roughly sire the same number of calves. But, research is actually showing there is a huge amount of variation in the number of calves each bull will throw."

If you are not able to view the webinar live, you can still register, and a link to the recorded webinar will be sent to you by email to view at your own convenience. Although, there is still advantages to attending the webinars live, since you can interact with the speaker and ask questions.

There are six more webinars in this series on topics such as understanding and managing forage diseases, preventing reproductive wrecks, and the latest results of the National Beef Quality Audit.
