Jack and Dianne Froese of Winkler were honoured during a banquet held Monday night in Winnipeg.

The couple was named the 2017 Farm Family of the Year by the Red River Exhibition Association.

"It is indeed a tremendous honour, especially when you see the banquet room filled with people and peers and the previous recipients of the award. It's very gratifying," said Jack.

Jack and Dianne operate a grain, oilseed and special crops farm with a major focus on dry beans.

Jack is currently serving as the President of the Canadian Canola Growers Association.

Also at the event, Neil Van Ryssel of Oakbank and Dr. Everett More of Virden were inducted into the Manitoba Agricultural Hall of Fame.
