Many events are planned for the Carman Country Fair that started yesterday and continues through tomorrow.

Dufferin Agricultural Society President Don Skeavington says they have a day dedicated to 4-H, livestock judging events, and a midway.

Skeavington says with the 130th anniversary being such a milestone, it's a shame they were not able to do more for the event.

He notes the fair is having a hard time surviving in a small town, and if it were not for the volunteers that help out at this time of year, they would not have a fair.

The fair is about one third the size it was thirty years ago.

The Dufferin Ag Society was the recipient of a grant of $4,000 from Western Canada Fairs and the province, and that helps out with their costs.
