Alert Ready, Canada's national public alerting system, will be put to the test today.

The system will sound at 1:55 p.m. this afternoon all compatible wireless device, TV, and radio include CFAM 950, Country 88.9 and The Eagle 93.5. Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure’s Emergency Management Organization (EMO) noted, however, not all Manitobans will receive the test alert on their mobile devices. This may occur for various reasons including device compatibility, software and settings, connection to an LTE network and cell tower coverage.

The tests, added EMO, are necessary in order to ensure the system is operating as intended and to educate the public on what an emergency alert will look and sound like in the event of a life-threatening situation.

Once again, Alert Ready will sound at 1:55 p.m. this afternoon all compatible wireless device, TV, and radio include CFAM 950, Country 88.9 and The Eagle 93.5.
