Altona Town Council has closed the books on the Altona Community Development Corporation (ACDC).

"(It) was used in the early years to handle economic development and growth in the Town of Altona, and it's been sitting there quietly since 2019 when SEED took over economic development for the region," explained Mayor Harv Schroeder.

ACDC has existed on paper for the past few years as the Town waited for a few contracts and assets to finish out. Those obligations are now complete, explained Schroeder. "So, ACDC is no longer needed."

"SEED has done a great job and the staff, Stephanie Harris. We continue to work with her. We're happy with how things are going," added the Mayor.

Schroeder added, to keep ACDC would have meant paying the continued cost of auditors for the organization.
