The Boyne Regional Library in Carman is getting ready for their big move back to their 1st Avenue SW location.

For a number of weeks, they've been running the library out of a temporary space next to the Back Door Youth Centre on Main Street.

That space will be shut down at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, Jan 25 as they pack up the books once again to move into their newly renovated home.

During this time residents are encouraged to take out a haul of books, movies, and/or television shows as they will only be reopening the public library at 8:30 a.m. on February 12.

All materials taken out before this Saturday will have no overdue fees applied during the move but will have a return day of February 13.

To help lighten the load, people are welcome to lend boxes and dollies for the books, and can also continue to purchase books at any of their sale tables. This will limit the number of books that need to be carted back and forth and give staff more time to dedicate towards re-shelving the collection.

For more information on how you can help or any questions as the move begins, call the library at 204-745-3504.

After the move is completed and the final renovation funds are raised, the Boyne Regional Library Expansion/Renovation Project Fundraising Committee will be refocusing their efforts on purchasing technology and furnishing the space. This will help to expand the many resources the library can offer the community.
