Some students in the Dominion City area have a longer bus ride to school these days.

The bridge closure along PR 200 has impacted one bus route in the Border Land School Division.

Superintendent Tim Mendel says the bus has to travel an additional 35 miles a day in order to transport students to and from school.

Mendel says some of their staff have also been forced to travel a longer distance to get to work.

Manitoba Highways is constructing a temporary bridge that could be up and running by next week.
