A veteran of the Western School Division (WSD) has been hired to fill a brand new role starting in the Fall.

Carla Wiebe will move into half-time the Student Services Administrator position at the start of the 2023/24 school year.

Wiebe began her teaching career in 2006 and moved into the role of resource teacher in 2016. She became the Interim Vice-Principal at Maple Leaf Elementary School in 2022 and since then has maintained a dual role of resource teacher and school administrator. With this new job, Wiebe will continue working in a dual role, this time as half-time Interim Vice-Principal, and half-time Student Services Administrator.

According to WSD, Wiebe has been instrumental in supporting inclusion for all students. Through collaboration with the student services team, students, their families, and relevant outside agencies, she strives to support the planning and coordination of effective, appropriate and inclusive learning opportunities for all students in the division.

"We welcome Carla to this position and look forward to the possibilities this new role will bring to students, staff and families in the new school year," added a WSD news release.

Wiebe starts her new job in September.
