Residents of Thornhill will see a change in their postal service in the new year following the resignation of their post master.

Canada Pot spokesperson Kathi Neal says they are working towards putting up community boxes near the community centre.

Neal says they will do this for about a month before re-assessing the situation, by talking to users and the R.M. of Stanley before proceeding further with something permanent.

Residents will be able to pick up their mail any time of day instead of trying to make it in during limited office hours.

However, one disadvantage is the inability to purchase postage or send parcels without having to go elsewhere.

Residents can also choose to take the opportunity to purchase and have their mail delivered to a box in Morden.
