The 43rd annual Cripple Creek Music Festival is just around the corner on July 28th south of Morden, and once again CFAM Radio 950 is proud to be a supporter of the free event. The line up this year is fantastic including Ed Wayne, Orlando & Grace, Shield of Faith, The Blue Water Boys, the Yodeling Farmer’s Daughter Juanita Clayton and many more.

"It started way back in 1982 when a group of musicians south of Morden wanted an opportunity for local musicians to have a chance to play in front of an audience featuring the country, gospel and bluegrass music," explained Art Wiebe from the organizing committee about the one day free event. "It's a combination of the three (styles of music), and it also goes into some folk. If you enjoy listening to fiddle music or guitar, upright bass or dobro, or harmonica, mandolin or banjo, there's a good chance you'll hear different groups performing using these acoustic instruments."

The day begins with the Gospel Morning from 10am to 12pm, with rest of the line-up taking the stage from 12pm to 7pm.

And like previous years, there will be a surprise group that will take the stage Sunday afternoon that won't be announced until moments beforehand.

"If you go back to 1982, we now have the fourth generation that's involved with the Festival," explained Wiebe. "The first three generations are still actively involved, and the fourth generation has just grown up, and so that might give you a hint."

It's free admission to the Cripple Creek Music Festival, but donations are accepted. There will be a food both on the grounds operated by The Bunker, and Sunny Day will be providing delicious sunflower seeds for snacking.

There is always ample signage posted to help people get to the concert site, and here are the directions:
From Morden:
6 1/2 miles South of Morden on Rd. 27 W. (Mason School Road located one mile East of Morden)

From Winkler:

"This year we've had a lot of rain, and so we're hoping for some sun and some cloud," added Wiebe. "everything's green. There should be a lot of shade. The trees definitely seem to have a lot more leaves this year, and the music is always great."
