The Community Credit Union has assets of  nearly 90-million dollars.

Chief Executive Officer Ross Ballantine says 2009 was a good year for growth.

Assets grew by nearly 7%, or more than five million dollars.

Ballantine says most of that growth was from an increase in loans to members which grew by more than 7%.

Ballantine says for 2009, the board of directors is declaring a 5% dividend on all common and surplus share accounts.

That's expected to be paid out in June.

Ballantine says  in 2009,  they changed  their banking system,  and also renovated the Grunthal branch.

He says in keeping with their mission of being dedicated to their communities, the Credit Union will continue to show financial support towards the Menno Home in Grunthal, Vita Daycare Centre,  and East Borderland Housing Project in Sprague.

Annual  meetings were this week in Grunthal, Vita, and Sprague.
