A close up of the damage caused by a blaze at a Morden apartment block last Friday

It was a shock the for the community of Morden when the Milne Park Garden Apartments on Stephen Street went up in flames Friday. This shock led to deep concern, and many  community members have been looking for ways to help.

Brian Thiessen has been organizing a donation drive for these people that lost so much. Thiessen says items can be dropped of at his store, B&D music in Morden, and if you have larger items you would like to donate, please send him a list. He notes storage of all these items could become an issue, and it would be easier if you are able to keep it with you until the time it would be delivered.

Thiessen says anything from food, furniture, appliances and money are being accepted. He says it is a good feeling to see the town come together like this to help its fellow citizens. He notes response to the donation drive was immediate.

Thiessen can be contacted at B&D Music Morden if anyone has donations or questions.
