The first day of school can be intimidating, especially if you do not speak the first language.

For the first time Morden Collegiate eased the tension by inviting the new E.A.L. students to the first day of classes with the Senior 1's.

Student Council members joined them, where they gave a tour of the school and had a BBQ for lunch.

Principal Krista Currie says it went over very well, everyone they invited showed up and some brought their parents.

Currie says their E.A.L. teacher teaches two English classes a day, they range from students who are just learning the language to someone who has been here a few years.
