Like other crops across the province, edible beans are ahead of schedule from a maturity point of view.
Parent Seed Farms agronomist Dennis Lange says most fields are 2 weeks ahead of where they should be.
He wouldn't be surprised to see some cutting of early season varieties like light red kidneys and small reds in 2 to 3 weeks.
For the most part lange feels the harvest will get underway at the end of the month.
Lange adds the crop is beginning to show signs of stress due to a lack of moisture.
Lower leaves are dropping off in some fields, but he stresses the crop is still progressing.
