Carman and the R.M. of Dufferin's new economic development officer is ready to get started.

Tyler King will begin April 10 and although he's not official on the job yet, King says he has been familiarizing himself with the community.

King feels this needs to be done before he begins making any decisions or changes that will affect the area.

He notes the trails, recreation opportunities, industrial parks, and retail sector provide an opportunity for growth and are attractive features.

King says during the interviewing process both councils seemed to get along well,  so reporting and working directly with them will only prove to be beneficial.
