Many farmers took advantage of the warm weather last week and got some crop into the ground.

Lorne Hamblin farms in the Morris area.

"We're like every other farmer in Manitoba. It's wet conditions. The stuff that's not flooded, we have been seeding outside the flood zone. Like everybody else here you're picking the high spots, your low spots. We just need more wind and sun."

Hamblin says they've planted some corn, wheat, and canola.

He notes they have about 1,500 acres that can be seeded outside of the flood zone.
