Funding from the $10 million federal program may be used to develop business proposals or feasibility studies.

The Manitoba Rural Adaptation Council is administering B.O.P.I. in our province, and will distribute $376,000 during the first application period.

Executive Director Terry Hayward says two completed proposals have been received thus far, both significant in scope.

He adds the largest, if approved for funding, would eat up all of M.R.A.C.'s initial allocation of funds.

Before being approved for funding, hayward explains the proposals must go through a third party review process.

Once that's completed a project committee will review the applications and make a recommendation to M.R.A.C.'s board of directors.

The application deadline is today.
