Chapen Leblond's goal with 29 seconds left in overtime lifted the Winkler Flyers to a 7-6 win over the Winnipeg Blues at MTS IcePlex last night.

With the win, the Flyers improve their record to 2-0 to start the 2010/2011 Manitoba Junior Hockey League season.

The Flyers don't seem to be having trouble scoring goals early in the season as they have now scored 14 times in their first two games.

Seven different players lit the lamp last night against the Blues with Leblond, Michael Wilgosh, Jory Mullin, Blair Osiowy, Steve Sorensen, Kyle Wells, and Matt Loopkey also scoring for the Flyers.

Loopkey, Leblond, and Osiowy all had multi-point nights.

Peter Alexander played great in earning his second straight win in goal making 34 saves, as the Flyers out shot the Blues 46-40. Alexander faced 22 of those shots in the first period alone.

The Flyers went 2-6 on the powerplay while the Blues went 1-5.

It was the Blues third straight overtime loss to start the year.

The Flyers will now return home for a pair of games on the weekend. They will host the Selkirk Steelers on Saturday and get a return visit from the Blues on Sunday. Both games start at 7:30pm.

CKMW Sports Director Matt Friesen asked Leblond, who has six points in his first two games to talk about his OT winner.
