The Hub Community Centre is looking for a new home. Organizers say they have until the end of June to be out of their current building.

Board Member Brian Thiessen explains they are asking the public for leads into a new location for the local food bank. "Asking for people to step forward and maybe offer up a location to become our new centre of operations."

Currently, The Hub enjoys a large 3,000 sq. ft. location to display their clothing stock and foodbank. "We were kind of spoiled," he says, adding at minimum they're looking for a 500 sq. ft. location to move into before July.

The Hub Community Centre operates a foodbank once a week for anywhere from 50-85 families in the community. "Our biggest priority right now is to make sure we have a location to hand out food... we have to be out by the end of the month so time is pressing."

"It's always unfortunate that people need to come get things to tide them over," Thiessen explains. "But what's been neat is seeing people use our services and come out on the other side to help others... extending that same help to the next person."

"It's inspiring," he adds.

The Hub started in the area as Donate Love and acts as a regional resource for clothing and household items, as well as the Morden BAG (Better Access to Groceries) program.
