Environment Canada has issued a Freezing Rain Warning for most of Southern Manitoba from the Red River west to the Saskatchewan border.

On Sunday, a low pressure system is set to travel eastward through southern Manitoba, bringing with it an area of accumulating freezing rain. The freezing rain is anticipated to start in southwestern Manitoba early Sunday morning, gradually spreading eastward throughout the day.

The transition of freezing rain to rain is expected in the southwest and through the Red River Valley early Sunday afternoon as temperatures rise above the freezing mark. As the low pressure system progresses eastward and exits the province, a gradual reduction in freezing rain by Sunday afternoon is expected.
