The former woodworking area at Gateway Resources in Winkler will have a new look and purpose in the future.

CEO Wayne Benedet says the facility will now include an expanded learning centre, quiet rooms, program offices, and a resource centre.

He says they hope to have it functional by the new year.

Meanwhile, contractor Ken Wiebe says a number of things need to be done before that can happen.

He says to complete the transition they will need to put up some interior walls and lower the ceiling.

He says that will also force them to modify the existing sprinkler system and plumbing.

Benedet adds the participants will experience little if any disruption, because there are alternate routes to all areas of the facility.

He says the ACL's in Morden and Winkler provided much of the resources for the development.

Benedet says they would also appreciate volunteers to come out and help with the project.
