Genesis House hosting screening of "Women Talking" in Winkler

Ang Braun, Executive Director at Genesis House, joined the Morning Show to talk about a unique event hosted by the local shelter for abused women and their children.

Tuesday, June 13th they are hosting a screening of Women Talking at the P.W. Enns Centennial Concert Hall in Winkler. The 2022 drama film is based on the novel of the same name written by Steinbach author Miriam Toews, itself inspired by events that occurred at the Manitoba Colony, a Mennonite community in Bolivia.

After the film has played there will be a panel discussion about the topics and themes of the film and how they relate to families in the Pembina Valley.

The event is free to attend but they will be accepting donations.
