Saturday morning over 100 festive folks helped wrap 1,100 gifts and prepare 180 hampers for the Rhineland Empty Stocking Fund... all of the items bought locally in Altona!

Sounds of the season were in the air, and so was the true meaning of Christmas as the community came together to support those who need it most.

Morning Show Co-Host Chris Sumner stopped by to see how things were going, and spoke with 16 year old Willow Kehler and 14 year old Josie Toews who have been volunteering for a very long time after their Grandma brought them years ago to the packing day.

That was Cindy Hildebrand from the Rhineland Empty Stocking Committee which was hard at work Saturday morning in Altona. Many hands make light work, and there were many, many hands wrapping gifts and preparing hampers, that’s for sure.

And now the group looks ahead to this coming Saturday for delivery day. If you’re interested in helping out, you can meet at the empty store space next to Pembina Valley Pharmacy in downtown Altona December 14th at 9am. Hamper loaders, vehicles and drivers are needed.
