The Winnipeg Goldeyes have dropped to sixth place in the Northern Baseball League. The Goldeyes gave up two runs in the top of the eighth inning and four more in the ninth and lost 9-3 to the Rockford RiverHawks in the finale of their three-games series. Juan Diaz went 2-for-2 at the plate for Winnipeg while Dee Brown was 2-for-4 and scored a run. The Goldeyes trail the Joliet JackHammers by two-and-a-half games in the race for the fourth and final playoff spot. Winnipeg is also a half game back of the fifth place RiverHawks. The Goldeyes, who will play a pair of seven inning games with the first place Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks tonight at Canwest Park, have 12 games left in the regular season schedule.
