It was the first time in Winkler for a judge from Communities in Bloom.

Jack Boutilier was very impressed with how clean the city was along with how nice all the flowers looked.

The is Winkler's first year competing at a national level, and Boutilier thinks we stand a good chance.

Boutilier says the judging is based on eight different categories ranging from community involvement to environmental issues.

He says it's obvious that Winkler has a lot of community involvement and hte poeple have a real love for the city.

A review will be given to the community after the national awards ceremony in September.
