Provincial officials expect Highway 75 at the north end of Morris will be closed at some point Friday evening.

Announced during a flood update over the noon hour, it was noted crews are closely monitoring river levels, and have been working to keep Highway 75 open as long as possible.

However, rising water levels mean a closure is expected tonight.

Highway 75 traffic will be detoured onto Provincial Road (PR) 205 at Aubigny, along PR 246 to Highway 23 at Morris and back onto Highway 75.

Meanwhile, Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Doyle Piwniuk stated during the news conference the south dike at Morris will remain open for the time being, though he anticipates it too will most likely close at some point in the coming days.
