Morden Police Service is reminding residents of their required duties after a traffic accident.

On February 16, police received a report of a hit and run. The caller had obtained the licence plate of the vehicle that backed into them in a parking lot before driving off.

However, the driver later contacted police to report the accident explaining they panicked and were unsure of what to do.

In the event of a collision, police explain drivers are required to remain at the accident scene and exchange particulars with other the person involved in the incident.

Police received multiple reports of hit and runs last week including one that occurred February 14 between 7:30 p.m and 9:30 p.m while parked on Stephen St. in front of the CIBC. The driver parked her 2012 blue Ford Fusion and returned to find damage to the front passenger side bumper.

On February 15, police received a report of a hit and run to a vehicle that occurred on February 13th while parked in the Buhler Manufacturing parking lot. The driver parked her 2019 grey Honda CRV and returned to find damage to the rear hatch door.
