Eight community organizations have benefited from this fall's Morden Area Foundation grants.

Chairperson Earl Lautenschlauger says the recipients are the Canadian Fossil Discovery Centre, Red Cross, Maple Leaf School, The Friendship Center, Well-Connected, Winkler Bible Camp, the town of Morden and the Pembina Hills Art Gallery.

Lautenschlauger says the grant money is the interest gained from their capital funds.

He says thats the great thing about the foundation...it will always exist because their capital will remain untouched.

Lautenschlauger says they are currently working on three funds in memory of people.

He says going this route through the foundation is a great way to leave a lasting legacy.
