Those involved with the Ruth Doern Winkler bridge project at Lake Minnewasta west of Morden are pleased with the involvement of the University of Manitoba Engineering Faculty.

Students were approached to do a study of the project to see if it was feasible.

Spokesperson Ron Laverty says in the review of the project, the students looked at the area, created a model of the bridge, and spoke with water resources and P-F-R-A.

Laverty says this is a futuristic idea.

He says it will open the trail around the golf course and lake, is connected to the Trans Canada Trail , and into future development on the south end of town.

Laverty says they hope to have the project complete by next year.
