The Winnipeg Jets scored four unanswered second period goals and defeated the Philadelphia Flyers 7-3 Sunday at Bell MTS Place.

Blake Wheeler and Mark Scheifele scored power play goals after Flyers forward Joel Farabee was assessed a five-minute major for his late hit on Winnipeg forward Mathieu Perreault nine minutes into the second period.

Logan Shaw and Patrik Laine rounded out the Jets scoring in the middle frame.

Winnipeg led 2-0 after the first period thanks to goals from Nikolaj Ehlers and Luca Sbisa.

Kyle Connor scored the Jets third power play goal of the game in the third period.

Matt Niskanen, James van Riemsdyk and Shayne Gostisbehere replied for the Flyers.

Winnipeg goaltender Connor Hellebuyck made 29 saves.

Brian Elliott gave up six goals on 17 shots before being replaced by Carter Hart who stopped six of seven shots.

The Jets (20-11-2) continue their three-game homestand Tuesday night against the Carolina Hurricanes.
