Keystone Agricultural Producers is worried about rail line abandonment.
President David Rolfe says the farm group wants the Province to place a moratorium on branch line abandonment.
He notes in particular is the line between Elgin and Morris which has been operated in recent years by Southern Manitoba Railway.
Rolfe adds there's now rumours circulating the portion between Mariapolis and Morris could be shut down, noting the move would have a serious impact on neighbouring businesses and municipalities.
K.A.P. passed a resolution at a general council meeting last week asking the Doer government to put a moratorium on branch line abandonment.
