Conservative MLA Kelvin Goertzen says the current session of the legislature is turning out to be a bust in terms of new legislation. Goertzen, who is Deputy Tory Leader and Justice Critic says that's because the NDP government is focusing almost all of its attention on the bill to destroy balanced budget legislation. He says the changes to the law will also protect government ministers from taking a significant pay reduction if the government runs a deficit.

Goertzen adds there are several crime bills he'd like to get through dealing with organized gangs, but, at this point, it appears unlikely. And he says that's very frustrating.

The current session of the legislature is scheduled to end June 17th.
