A Morden business is expanding its operations.

3M will invest $4 million on the project which will get underway this fall with hopes of completion in mid 2007.

Plant Manager Kent Burak says the expansion will enhance the production of Scotchkote, a corrosion protection coating used for gas pipelines.

He says the demands on the oil industry has generated more need for their product.

Burak says they have had a great track record for safety, quality, and productivity.

They hope to have construction underway this fall with the equipment operational by the middle of next year.

The expansion will create 12 new jobs, including operators, engineers, and maintenance.
