Entries are up across the board at the 2006 edition of Manitoba Livestock Expo.

The province’s largest all breeds cattle show got underway yesterday.

Co-chair Rick Wright says the additional space provided by the new Agricultural Centre of Excellence arena has already had a positive impact.

He feels with the new facility the Wheat City is now in the upper echelon of sites in Western Canada and the Northwestern United States.

Wright adds organizers are happy with the number of breeds represented at this year’s show, but work continues to encourage more to take part.

He notes there’s a good chance Holsteins may return in the near future, and possibly even some demonstration breeds.

Manitoba’s largest all breeds cattle show concludes Saturday evening.
