This weekend the Manitou Agricultural Fair took place; it is a celebration of rural life and agricultural heritage. This spirited event attracts farmers, families, and visitors, all eager to engage with the agricultural charm that the region has to offer.

The heart of the Manitou Agricultural Fair revolved around a fantastic lineup of activities and attractions that aimed to get kids involved, excited, and eager to learn, all to keep the agricultural spirit alive and thriving. Live music performances created a vibrant atmosphere, and a wide array of vendors offered special crafts and top-of-the-line agricultural equipment, ensuring there was something for everyone to enjoy. The funds raised are going back into the communities Manitou schools breakfast club programs.

"I think it's just a fun weekend for everyone to come out and see everybody they haven't seen. There are lots of different things going on for lots of different people and age groups," said Lindy Dobson, who attended the Ag Fair.

The fair included exciting features, including a dunk tank, petting zoo, free swimming, baseball tournament and kid's wagon rides, encouraging community involvement and exciting interactions. The event also hosted a special 4-H cattle show, allowing young participants to showcase their expertise and passion.

"It's a great family day. The Ag Society has done a really good job of bringing family events here. It's a good way to spend a Saturday," said Jennifer Chan-Faux, who attended the Ag Fair.

To engage and educate the younger generation, the fair incorporates various kids' activities designed to involve them and foster a love for agriculture. These activities aim to provide hands-on learning experiences and instill a sense of appreciation for agriculture's vital role in the community.

"We have great support from the agriculture industry; you see, there's lots of equipment out here from a variety of agricultural sales services in this area. Our craft building has a lot of agricultural-related hands-on things for kids who learn about grains and what it might look like when it becomes a food they eat. This fair is very important for our youth. Our 4-H programs, especially kids learning about cattle and how important the agricultural industry is as far as providing us with food and careers," said Reagan Dobson, who is a secretary at the Ag society.

The Manitou Agricultural Fair served as a powerful testament to the spirit of the agricultural community in Manitoba. It served as a magnificent showcase of rural life and a sense of unity, pride, and appreciation for agriculture's role in the region.
