Altona Maroons teams won gold in Morris and captured a league title in Warren this past weekend.

The U11 bronze squad earned gold at the Morris Hockey Tournament.

Zade Thomas scored his third goal of the game in overtime as the Maroons shaded Morden 3-2 in the final.

Altona beat Red River 7-4; lost 1-0 to Morden and defeated Niverville 7-1 in the round robin. That win over Niverville set up a rematch with Morden in the gold medal game.

The U15 Maroons teams used solid goaltending from Mya Falk and beat the Stonewall Blues 4-1 in Warren and swept the best-of-three Eastern Manitoba Female Hockey League A division championship in two straight.

Altona rallied from a 3-1 deficit with three third period goals and shaded the Blues 4-3 in the series opener at Sunflower Gardens.

The Maroons finished in first place with a 23-4-9 record and swept Springfield, Niverville and Stonewall on their way to capturing the league championship.

The team, which includes players from Altona, Rosenort, Winkler and Morden, also won gold at the Kenora Tournament.
