Construction and renovation work has started on the new Keystone Kat Shop in Altona

The Mayor of Altona is pleased to see something positive happening with the former Bueckert Motors property in town. Keystone Kat purchased the property last month, and has started renovating the building. Melvin Klassen says it will be a huge improvement to that part of town. "It's good to finally see some positive activity going on there. For several years Town Council has worked to make a change there, and we think this will be a real good change for the town", said Klassen.

The owners of Keystone Kat purchased the property for 60-thousand dollars. The company expects to be operating in the new facility by fall.

Meanwhile, good progress is being made on Altona's biggest infrastructure project. A new and improved 14th Avenue North is beginning to take shape. Borland Construction has laid down the concrete for the new roadway. Mayor Klassen says if the weather cooperates the work should be finished by early August. Klassen adds improvements to the intersection of 14th Avenue and Highway 30 will also be made.
