The CW Wiebe Medical Centre in Winkler will welcome a new executive director on May 1st.

In a media release sent to PembinaValleyOnline.com, the Physicians and Staff of the Clinic said they're excited to welcome Karen-Denise Cyr to their team!

Cyr has 25 years of healthcare administration experience. She is the Provincial Director of Emergency and Continuity Management with Shared Health Manitoba. The role includes working with leaders in municipal, provincial, federal, and non-government health and social services agencies to ensure continuous provision of health services during emergencies and disasters.

She is also deeply familiar with Not-for-profit sector organizations and community engagement and has been described as a champion of employee wellness.

"Cyr is pursuing her Masters of Arts in Leadership (Healthcare concentration) at Royal Roads University. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Manitoba, a certificate in Emergency Management from the Justice Institute of British Columbia, and an Associate Business Continuity Professional designation from DRI Canada."

Cyr said she's excited to begin her work with the C.W. Wiebe team and looks forward to meeting the team of physicians, nurses, allied health professionals support staff, and community stakeholders.

Cyr will transition into the role with C.W. Wiebe’s current Executive Director Jim Neufeld, who had previously retired but graciously returned to the position as the search for a new Executive Director could be completed.

"We are grateful to Jim for his many years of expert leadership and wish him well in his well-deserved retirement," said the clinic's physicians and staff.
